Two antique earthenware compote dishes
Details
This set includes a tall compote dish on a pedestal, ideal for presenting fruits, pastries, or creating an elegant centerpiece; and a low compote dish on a foot, perfect as a presentation bowl or serving dish. The set is made of fine ivory earthenware and adorned with a delicate blue floral decoration. The back of the smaller compote dish bears the monogram HB accompanied by the mention Cluny, attributing these pieces to the Hippolyte Boulenger & Cie factory in Choisy-le-Roi. Their manufacture is estimated between 1880 and 1910. These compote dishes show a beautiful antique patina with slight traces of use, evidence of their authenticity, without altering their charm. A magnificent pair of antique pieces that will find their place just as well on a refined Gustavian style table as a decoration in a family home kitchen.
